Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about StockPrince.
01General
Is StockPrince free to play?
Yes. Every day there are free-entry challenges you can join with no cost. Paid challenges with higher prize pools are also available, but free contests are always running.
Is StockPrince gambling?
No. StockPrince is a skill-based competition, not gambling. Outcomes are determined entirely by your market knowledge, portfolio construction, sector awareness, and ability to read momentum — not by chance. Every player sees the same stock universe and the same live market data. The difference between finishing first and finishing last comes down to who builds the strongest portfolio and manages risk the best. This model is the same one behind fantasy sports, which regulators and courts have consistently recognized as contests of skill.
How are winners determined?
Your portfolio is scored by total return (percentage gain/loss) over the challenge period using live market data. The player with the highest return at the end wins.
Do I need real money to get started?
No. You can compete in free challenges immediately after signing up. Your wallet starts at $0, and you only deposit if you choose to enter paid contests.
02Gameplay
What stocks can I pick?
Each challenge defines a stock universe — typically 30-40 NYSE-listed stocks across sectors like tech, healthcare, finance, and energy. You pick 3-5 stocks and set your allocation.
How do prizes work?
Prize pools vary by challenge. Free contests typically award smaller prizes, while paid entry challenges pool entry fees into larger prizes. Top finishers (usually top 3) split the pool.
Can I play with friends?
Absolutely. You can create a private league, set your own rules and buy-in, then invite friends via a shareable link or code. Only invited players can join.
What are skill levels?
Players start at Entry level and progress through Experienced to Shark based on performance. Higher tiers unlock premium challenges and larger prize pools.
03Account and wallet
Is this real stock market data?
Yes. All portfolios are scored against live NYSE market data during market hours. Prices update in real time so standings shift as the market moves.
How do I withdraw my winnings?
Navigate to your Wallet, then tap Withdraw. You'll need to complete KYC verification (identity check) before your first withdrawal. Funds are sent to your linked bank account.
What is a league?
A league is a private, ongoing competition you create with friends or colleagues. Leagues can run monthly, quarterly, or for a full season with cumulative standings, head-to-head matchups, and a season prize fund.
Can I edit my portfolio after a challenge starts?
Your starting allocations lock when the contest begins — edit them anytime before that on the Draft screen (Edit picks). Once live, use the Trade tab to buy, sell, and place stop-loss / take-profit orders during the contest.
What happens if the market is closed?
Challenges only score during regular market hours (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET, Mon-Fri). If a challenge spans a weekend, scoring pauses and resumes when the market reopens.
